Getting Fit: A challenge for beginner runners or those of you who want to start running.

Week 1: Run one minute. Walk 90 seconds. Repeat eight times. Do three times a week.

Week 2: Run two minutes. Walk one minute. Repeat seven times. Do three times a week.

Week 3: Run three minutes. Walk one minute. Repeat six times. Do three times a week.

Week 4: Run five minutes. Walk two minutes. Repeat four times. Do three times a week.

Week 5: Run eight minutes. Walk two minutes. Repeat three times. Do three times a week.

Week 6: Run twelve minutes. Walk one minute. Repeat three times. Do three times a week.

Week 7: Run fifteen minutes. Walk one minute. Run fifteen minutes. Do three times a week.

Week 8: Run thirty minutes continuously.

Okay seriously noting this for myself. I am doing this when I get back to the gym in a week and a half or so. Yes please!

What’s Your Reward?

Other than being thin, happy, healthy. What’s your reward for making it to your goal weight? If you have one.

Mine will be a tattoo I’ve been wanting for quite some time. But, I want to be sure that when I get it, I look good showing it off, so that’s why it’s my reward to myself for reaching my goal. Plus, I have such a large amount of weight to lose that it will make it that much better.

SCISSOR Target Muscles: rectus abdominis, transverse abdominis, obliques Set up: Lie on your back on a mat with your arms extended by your sides or tuck your hands beneath your lower back [A]. Action: Lift your feet off the floor and slowly open your legs [B],  then cross your right ankle over the left; open and cross in the other  direction for one rep. Do three sets of 20 reps on both sides or until  failure.

*I know it doesn’t seem like much, but please keep in mind that I am just starting out and don’t want to do too much too fast. Better than nothing, right?
